Some of the Kolektiv crew were down in Christchurch for the long weekend visiting friends when we had the great opportunity to visit Carl Sara at Crafted Coffee and enjoyed some his barista skills along side his co-workers (who happen to be New Zealand’s top 3 baristas) make incredible coffee in the chill of the Christchurch winter.
One style of coffee which needs a particular mention. He served us up with a Japanese siphon coffee…very interesting brew, for those of you that haven’t any clue as to what a siphon coffee is watch the clip below and discover the magic of this coffee.
Carl recently coming back from ventures in South America on a coffee mission told us that this particular brew has more caffeine content than a regular espresso and has a lot smoother taste…woohoo!!! The taste is almost like a tea and has an initial sweetness with a soft and smooth ride. A must try!!!
This place is on the highly recommended list of places to visit if you’re looking for a nice place to get a fantastic coffee experience or some very insightful knowledge on the world of coffee.
