Today if you haven't seen or found already we're offering a 'FREE TEE FRIDAY' over at FaceBook. Quite simple really, we're posting an image on Friday evening of somewhere or something pertaining to New Zealand and the first person to answer the correct information inside the comments section wins a FREE T-SHIRT. Simple enough. So if you've found yourself here and its still friday afternoon then slide on over to FaceBook and check to see if its still on. Quite unusual really it could almost be callled Freaky Free Tee Friday the Friteenth!...anyways not too superstitious over here at Kolektiv so no worries:)
The boys from 'Six Dollar Fifty Man' Mark Albiston and Luis Sutherland had a thank-you dinner recently offereing their gratitude for all the love and support that has been given to them during their recent successes. Whilst the Kolektiv crew were unable to attend the evening we were asked to print a t-shirt as a give away to go along with spot prizes during the evening. We said sweet as, always happy to help these fullas and what they do.
Again, well done Mark and Louis. Unfortunately we weren't ready with a camera to take a snap of these limtied edition tees before they were shipped out the door from Kolektiv...so we've added the design for you all to see, but only the lucky few will ever know how cool the t -shirt actually was...
Some of the Kolektiv crew were down in Christchurch for the long weekend visiting friends when we had the great opportunity to visit Carl Sara at Crafted Coffee and enjoyed some his barista skills along side his co-workers (who happen to be New Zealand’s top 3 baristas) make incredible coffee in the chill of the Christchurch winter.
One style of coffee which needs a particular mention. He served us up with a Japanese siphon coffee…very interesting brew, for those of you that haven’t any clue as to what a siphon coffee is watch the clip below and discover the magic of this coffee.
Carl recently coming back from ventures in South America on a coffee mission told us that this particular brew has more caffeine content than a regular espresso and has a lot smoother taste…woohoo!!! The taste is almost like a tea and has an initial sweetness with a soft and smooth ride. A must try!!!
This place is on the highly recommended list of places to visit if you’re looking for a nice place to get a fantastic coffee experience or some very insightful knowledge on the world of coffee.
Recently browsing the NZ Herald website we spotted Emily Harris wearing one of Kolektiv’s Wind Farm t-shirts. Looking further into it we see Emily is one of those girls making a difference in New Zealand with her roof-top planting initiative. We here at Kolektiv feel it is an extremely significant concept and we are sure it is something that is going to catch on and take off! Watch the youtube video below and you’ll see its positive effects in creating a better city and a better world that we all live in.
Kolektiv respect Emily :)
"I'm Emily Harris, and I'm trying to make Auckland rooftops green.
I worked as a lawyer for a couple of years, but I realised that wasn't really what I wanted to do. I wanted to make more of a contribution to my community and our environment, so I decided to establish rooftop gardens on buildings in Auckland City.
To succeed, I'm going to need support from other people. This isn't something I can do on my own. I need rooftops to plant on and people to help me with the gardens. It's something that we can do together in the community. So join me in making this Pure Future happen."
Watch the clip below to see her short video about Emily's wonderful initiative.
Back in 2008 the boys from Sticky Pictures Mark Albiston and Luis Sutherland came into our Kolektiv Design Studio store in Wellington. They mentioned who they were and what they were up to, straight off the bat we knew these chaps were good, down to earth kiwi lads with a world scope and large hearts. Since our first meeting we loved what they’re doing in the film industry and have been supporting the boys with funky tee shirts for their global ventures.
Spotted here wearing Kolektiv Commonwelath and Kolektiv Aotearoa Font tees.
